10/8/2014 I met with Mike Goodwin of Mort's Water and Gary, a long time Sparboe employee, at the facility. The purpose of the visit was to verify RPZ locations. Mike stated that they wanted to change the location of the RPZ on the water line going to the egg processing room. The line enters the room several feet off the floor. Mike thought that it would be better to locate the RPZ to an area where it would be easier to maintain and test. We went back to the attic area on the south side of the building. It was decided to locate the RPZ on the egg processing water line in the attic area. This location would necessitate the replumbing of the water line going to the utility room to a point before the RPZ. Mike said that this would be done. We then reviewed the plumbing in the utility room. Gary said that the only water leaving the utility room and going to the egg processing area was hot water. After looking at the plumbing it was decided to install two small RPZs on the two feed lines to the boilers. We also verified that an RPZ would be located on the line going to the chicken barns. Currently this water line runs along the ceiling. Mike said the water line would be brought down to the floor for installation of the RPZ and then it would be run back up to the ceiling. He said this RPZ would be installed later in the day. I also made the recommendation to install spring loaded hose bib check valves on all the faucets in the egg processing area. Before leaving the facility, I walked around the house which is located on the NE corner of the property. I looked for any evidence of the location of a septic system for the house. I could not see any surface indications of the location of a septic tank or leach field. I also verified that the water tower overflow was properly screened. GLENN CARPER
