1/28/2015	1330 hrs: On 28 JAN 15, I spoke with both Steve Hilleson, Facility Manager, and Lynn Seba, Robert Mallow Law Firm (Facility Counsel). According to Mr. Hilleson, the facility experienced a larger than normal mortality over the weekend and all the carcasses would not fit in the dead box, causing some to be placed on the ground around the dead box. The facility renders all carcasses via Darling International, every 48-hours. The carcasses had simply not yet been removed on the Sunday when the complainant observed them. According to Steve, the carcasses have since been picked up by Darling. We discussed that this was, if anything, more a timeliness of disposal issue than a method of disposal since rendering is an allowable and preferred method of disposal. I did inform Mr. Hilleson and Ms. Seba that IDALS regulates timeliness of disposal, and that we would typically refer this type of complaint to IDALS, although if they are rendering every 48-hours it is highly doubtful IDALS would cite a violation. In short, I informed them that I was not citing any sort of violation and thanked them for the information.	TRENT LAMBERT
