3/20/2018	Received call from Al Mullenbrook 3-16-18 that there had been a significant suffocation of hogs (800-1000 at 90 lbs) at the Donnelson confinement site 67167. Mr. Mullenbrook requested info on the regs to bury the hogs. I suggested that he reference the IDNR's interactive burial map and also referred him to the solid waste animal burial rules. I told him that in these emergency situations that they may disregard the limitation on # per acre but should still follow the depth etc in the sw rules. ES Ben Stracuzzi and I then went to the site later in the day and observed where a six foot trench had been dug on the ridge top to the NE of the buildings in what appeared to be an acceptable area according to the map Tri Oaks employee Dave Wagenbach presented on site. Dave also stated that the dead hogs would be covered with a minimum of 36 inches of soil.	BERT NOLL
