10/26/2009 From: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Sent: Monday, October 26, 2009 2:09 PM To: Thomas, Terisa [DNR] Subject: RE: Xenia Madrid to Boone I called the Madrid operator and he said they do not have any emergency connection with Xenia. They have been working on it for several years, but in an emergency they would have to get generators for the wells and the WTP. Xenia is supposed to be working on some type of bypass so they can provide Madrid with water, but like I said, this has been in the works for quite some time and doesn’t look promising with Xenia’s problems. Although the operator did say Xenia can fill the Luther EST with water from either Boone or Madrid but it doesn’t sound like that EST can feed Madrid yet. I would leave it out of SDWIS for now. ________________________________________ From: Thomas, Terisa [DNR] Sent: Monday, October 26, 2009 8:01 AM To: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Subject: Xenia Madrid to Boone Janet, In this supply’s most recent SS (2007), you wrote this sentence: “The Xenia Madrid system is able to provide the city of Madrid with water on an emergency basis through connections to the city of Boone.” I’m not sure I totally understand how these systems work so I hope you can help me because none of these connections are in SDWIS. The way I read this, Xenia Madrid should have an emergency CC TO Madrid, is that correct? Or is it Xenia Boone that has the emergency connection to Madrid? Thanks! JANET GASTINEAU
