6/19/2017	Kent with Morts Water called on 6/1/17 to ask if a septic system would be allowed for a new vehicle wash area being built at this facility. He wasn't sure on all the details but the current wash area was going into an old septic system that was no longer functioning. He also asked the county if it would be allowed and they seemed to be agreeable to installing a new septic system. I said we would need more details on what the vehicle wash would entail (bio-security, equipment, etc) before determining if a septic was allowed. I discussed the question with other DNR staff and determined that a septic system is only allowed for septic wastes, not industrial type wastewater, such as a car wash. I left Kent a message later in the day on 6/1 and had not heard back so I called again on 6/12. I explained that a septic system would not be allowed in this case. He hadn't received any more details on what the details of the wash area either. I agreed that a holding tank that is pumped out and properly disposed of would be an acceptable solution. I also said the facility could contact this office should they have any questions.	DANIEL WATTERSON
