8/11/2016 On August 11, 2016 I received a call from Mike Fischer the operator for Madrid Water Supply. Mike said they have been using Ag Source Lab to collect and analyze their bacterial samples. The sample they collected on July 13th at the Casey's had a free chlorine residual of 0.0 mg/L. Mike went to the same location a few days later after he received the laboratory results and measured free chlorine at 0.9 mg/L. He said one other time they collected at City hall and measured free chlorine at 0.43 mg/L. He checked the chlorine residual there a couple of hours later and obtained a reading of 1.25 mg/L. Another time at the school Ag Source measured free chlorine at 0.43 mg/L and Mike obtained a measurement of 1.0 mg/L. Mike believes they don't run water in the tap long enough to get a true reading. Also he gave instructions to Ag Source to notify him if they obtained a free chlorine reading of less than 0.3 mg/L and also to collect a HPC sample if it is less than 0.3 mg/L. They have not done either of these. He is going to start collecting the samples himself. I told him he could put a comment on his MOR explaining the difference in free chorine residuals between his measurement for July 2016 and what Ag Source obtained. He is going to put a comment in his MOR that he believes the low free chlorine residual Ag Source obtained in July was due to not running the tap long enough and that he will be collecting the bacterial samples in the future.
