5/7/2024 4/22/2024 0949: Email assist to Jimmy Cresswell. The email read as follows: Ryk, Jon <jon.ryk@dnr.iowa.gov> Mon, Apr 22, 9:49?AM to Albert Hey Jimmy, I will need to get that formal plan of action from you today. Can you please put all that you intend to do on one document and send it to me today. Email should be okay provided it is all included in one email. From the emails we have sent back and forth, it should include: Valve installed for outflow from catch basin Hired new caretaker Wet/Dry Feeders Installed properly Weekly basin checks and basin checks after rain events Water not released from catch basin until determined to be free from manure impacts via field testing for ammonia via test strips. Results of field testing to be documented, including photos of completed test strips and maintained by owner/operator. Owner to submit documentation of testing of water from catch basin to Field Office 6 on a weekly basis from April 26 through June 21, 2034. Map of locations along Painter Creek that you can access to dam and pump in the case of unintended release in the future. I would also recommend that you include the name and contact information for the caretaker in case there is an issue that needs to be handled right away. Please feel free to call or email me if you have questions. Thank you for your time and for your cooperation. Sincerely, Jon ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Ryk, Jon <jon.ryk@dnr.iowa.gov> Date: Wed, Apr 10, 2024 at 8:19?AM Subject: Re: Prevention of manure release To: Albert Cresswell <acresswell15@gmail.com> Sounds good Jimmy, I checked with Jeff Prier, the Senior in AFO in this Field Office, and he suggested having you submit records of the basin inspections to me via email over the next couple months (wet season). So, just to make it all official, can you put that all down in a document entitled "Manure Release Prevention Plan Action" that you sign and send back to me (email is fine) and that should do it for the plan of action. And make sure that in the document you put that you will perform and document the basin inspections prior to releasing any water in the basin and keep copies of those. Please let me know if you have questions and thanks again for your time and for working with us on this matter. Sincerely, Jon JON RYK
