Soil and ground water samples were collected in order to characterize conditions to determine if redevelopment of the site for use as a trail head for nature trail was feasible. Conclusion was that the site did have residual petroleum contamination in soil and ground water but not to the extent that would prevent development for intended use. The site did not pose a threat to public heath for intended use and no environmental concern was identified. This site is one of the former Chicago NW sites that were transferred to Contaminated Sites from the Emergency Response Section in 2006. The other sites include; 1.) CNW Jefferson Lease site 2.)
