A currently vacant building in Anamosa owned by a non-profit. Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments were completed at the site to facilitate the goal of renovating the building for commercial/residential use. Past uses of the site, including a livery, dry cleaner, radio manufacturer, and clothing manufacturer, suggested the potential for contamination in the soil and groundwater. Subsequent sampling found that although some small levels of contamination exists at the site, human health and the environment does not appear to be at risk.
