A former dry cleaner that operated from approximately 1958 to 1977, and is now the northern portion of the footprint of the Sports Column Bar located at 12 South Dubuque Street in Iowa City. The site is being investigated as a potential source of a chlorinated solvent plume that was discovered during a 2002 investigation at a nearby property to the southeast of the site. Completed activities include soil, groundwater, ambient air, and vapor intrusion sampling. Chlorinated solvents were not detected in soil or groundwater collected from a temporary boring installed approximately 50 feet south of the site. Additionally, although tetrachloroethylene was detected in vapor intrusion samples, the detections did not exceed EPA's commercial Removal Management Levels.
