The property, owned by the City of Urbandale, is used as the Urbandale Park Maintenance Facility. In October 2023, an Iowa Licensed Tank Remover was contracted to remove a 560-gallon underground storage tank that was used to collect stormwater at the site. The tank was removed and disposed of at the local landfill in accordance with all local and federal regulations. Following removal, a soil and groundwater sample was collected and an Underground Storage Tank Closure Report was filled out and submitted to DNR for review. As the samples collected did not return any detections and the removal was completed according to all applicable regulations, DNR requires no additional action at this time.
