Summary

An active railroad corridor, rail yard, and staging area where six recognized environmental conditions were discovered during a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. Following the initial Phase I Assessment, investigations were conducted to collect groundwater and soil samples at the site, which were analyzed for BTEX, TEHs, PAHs, and RCRA Metals. Of the soil samples collected, PAHs were the only constituents detected above Statewide Standards at any of the locations and the determination was made by DNR that unacceptable hazardous conditions are not present in soil at the site based on current and expected future site use as a rail yard. No constituents were detected above Statewide Standards on the site groundwater and, therefore, unacceptable hazardous conditions were not determined to be present at the site based on the current information and site use. DNR does not require any additional investigative work at the site at this time and the site has been closed.
