The $75 fee per permit is required according to Iowa Administrative Code 567 Chapter 73.11 for all regulated dams in order to legally impound water.

The DNR Payment Portal allows for payments for DNR programs. Once program fees have been selected, the user will be redirected to Gov2Go to pay by credit card or ACH (electronic check). A processing fee of $1.50 will be added for all electronic payments, and a 2.5% fee will be added for credit card payments.

For all Water Storage Permit Payments, applications must be submitted via the PERMT Web Application before fees can be paid through the DNR Payment Platform. Once DNR staff have received an application for a dam project, the fee will be added to the DNR Payment Platform for payment.
