Fishing Summary

There are different fishing opportunities in this long stretch of river, depending on where you choose. The upper end, especially near Marshalltown, can provide good walleye fishing. The lower end, especially just above Coralville Lake, can provide good catfishing. Almost the entire stretch has walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, flathead catfish and channel catfish. - Last updated on 01/09/2019.

Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones.
