5/22/2020 changed capacity for permit to 2800 to meet separation distances to residence. LOIS BENSON
5/13/2020 Permit from 2013 by previous owner was not completed. That permit was supposed to build an extension of the building by the road similar to this 2020 permit. Also a certification was never done as the permit was not completed. The dairy was sold prior to construction. However, the manager of the dairy at that time operated differently that they do now. He placed more cattle in each barn, up to 2200 head. This permit will construct an extension onto the building in the same location as the previous permit and will connect directly to the existing front building. They have also changed all of the buildings to tunnel ventilation which allows the flume to run year around. Current head count for each building is 904 on front existing and 1200 on back barn. They may have a few in the middle area as sick or transition. In reality, they have not been near the 2800 capacity but went ahead and did the expansion for 3000. They will probably run it at about 2800 head. They also plan to sell the irrigator and will always now hire drag line pumping. Basins are already pumped down this spring and will hope to only need to be pumped yearly now with new storage. LOIS BENSON
