6/3/2022 I conducted a general visit to Chamness today to see if the new compost screener was operating, see how much compost has been screened, where they're piling the screened material, what the leachate levels were in the lagoons and what Palestine Creek looked like. Some answers to the above questions: The screener was operating, it's hard to say how much has been screened, but I talked to Tyler (Chamness employee) and he said it's operating "all the time". The screened material, according to Tyler, is getting sold to alot of farmers due to high fertilizer costs. The lagoons are all pumped down farther than I've ever seen them pumped down. With the exception of two historically old and large piles on western side of the pad, the rest of the pad is windrowed and not holding leachate. No smoke could be seen from any of the piles. Palestine Creek (at the Missouri crossing) looked free of leachate. Buch Farms was not seen land applying during my visit. Many photos were taken. KURT LEVETZOW
