7/16/2020 Richard Swan and I discussed and observed site updates and changes since the last DNR visit (7/7/20 KL). Please reference the list below: • An excavator has been rented to begin work on the east drains. Drains are to be installed as soon as feasible. • An end loader and bulldozer are working on site to clean paths and make room. Material is being moved to specific locations based on type/consistency/moisture. • Cured waste continues to be hauled out. Screener is not working yet; trash being picked out before application when feasible and after application as needed. • 846 tons of cured waste hauled out week of 6/30 and 748 tons of cured hauled out week of 7/6. • A few green RU loads temporarily being diverted to Muscatine organics capture facility. • Diatomaceous earth loads have been reduced in volume and frequency. • A couple paths have been created through and around material. • West side bermed up to control leachate. • Screener is still not operational • Fire on 7/6 started about 40 minutes after Kurt Levetzow’s visit and was out about an hour later. Material is being moved in an attempt to create a windrow. A few path across the pad were created. A larger area for dumping and mixing was created in the central portion. No leachate discharge off the pad was observed. No leachate in the creek was observed. More in depth memo will be attached with pictures. BRIAN LEE
