4/12/2018 On April 11, 2018, I met with Roger and Greg Vorhies, Joe Holden, Makenzie and Rose to discuss AQ permitting. They showed me drawings of their facility schematics, and showed me the issues they want to resolve and had some questions regarding what construction permitting would be necessary. Essentially, they are in the beginning phases of formulating a plan to gain efficiencies with air flow for indoor air quality (new OSHA silica regs coming soon) as well as reconfiguring duct-work from various emission units to various baghouses in order to improve draw to the control. They showed how they'd like to take some emission units away from certain baghouses and add to others for getting better draw on some of the existing baghouses and for electrical efficiency reasons. They'll be installing some new pick up points to improve indoor air quality, they'll likely be rescinding some old permits, for sure modifying permits, and maybe even applying for some new permits. They've already shut down one old BH that was falling apart and installed a new one (air permitting was done for that in Project 17-423) and they'll be wanting to add more units to that baghouse as it's split down the middle but has only one stack so that'll cause some interesting permitting. They're fearful that if as-builts are found and applications are submitted to 'right the former owners wrongs', will they have to take the heat through enforcement action? I explained that i'd inform both the permitting and the Compliance Assistance side of the AQB. I explained that i'd request that AQB not take EA due to the former owners issues were no fault of Faircast, and because Faircast has been very upfront with FO6, with both Air and Foundry Sand Disposal topics thus far.
