2/16/2012	On 2/15/12 I conducted a follow visit to the Sivyer steel foundry sand pile removal project. I met with John Hoffman of Sivyer Steel and went to the pile site. Removal of sand from the pile just outside the plant to the "onion field" continues and much of th pile is gone. At this point according to Mr. Hoffman the sand has been removed to near dirt level and now smaller areas are being removed to dirt level for screening of metal and the piled for delivery to the onion field. Once this is complete Meller excavating is to complete the final grade. Mr. Hoffman also noted that the dike along the river has to worked around carefully as it is apparently owned and manged by the Army Corps and any disturbance would require i tto rebulit to strict standards.
