On the landfill visit report form, is it possible to change the third paragraph in the Comments section to read as follows, or attach this email to the report, as it appears I may not have adequately explained the leachate matter at the time of the inspection: The leachate from the fly ash landfill, the run-off water from the coal pile and boiler blow down water are collected in the holding pond south of the fly ash landfill and treated in the lime column to adjust the pH to comply with limits in the Iowa NPDES Permit prior to discharging the treated water into the installation stream system, via a tributary of Long Creek. When the new wastewater treatment system is completed to replace the existing main sewage treatment plant system the treated effluent from the lime column will be placed into the new system. Your response will be appreciated.
