7/1/2009 Incpection of construction of Phase 1 and 1.5 acres of cap over the unlined area. The liner consists of 2 feet of compacted clay overlain by 60mil HDPE. The leachate collection piping runs east-west. The leachate drainage layer is a geocomposite (geonet with fabric on both sides) overlain by a 12-inch layer of sand. The final cover consisted of 2 feet of compacted clay overlain by two feet of general fill . The landfill would appreciate an inspection as soon as possible so they can begin filling and get adequate waste cover prior to winter. AMIE DAVIDSON

7/17/2009 Heavy rainfall event on 7/3/09 caused some erosion of the sand layer on the east end of the cell. This will need to be repaired. Wendy Wittrock, operator, stated they had already contacted a contractor to do the repair work. Otherwise, the cell appeared to be ready to receive waste.
