3/27/2025 On March 27, 2025, Field Office 6 staff were dispatched to the location and took photographs of the roads condition. Staff also received a photo from a complainant. These photos are attached to this complaint. No violations of Iowa Administrative Code 65 were recorded. JEREMIAH KAUFMANN
3/27/2025 On March 27, 2025, Field Office 6 staff spoke with Louisa County Engineer Adam Shutt. Adam is in charge the 568.6 miles of paved, gravel and dirt roads and the 122 bridges in the county. They maintain roads year-round, including road signs, plowing snow, graveling, grading and mowing road shoulders. They are also in charge of all road, bridge and culvert construction. Mr. Shutt was aware of muds tracks and unspecified amounts of solid cattle manure (derived from an open lot) that was on the road. The responsible party, Tom Bonnichsen, is applying the manure to his fields and is tracking mud and small amounts of manure/bedding may be falling off his applicator when driving down the road. Mr. Shutt had the roads cleared and stated he would speak with Mr. Bonnichsen if further concerns arose. JEREMIAH KAUFMANN
