9/23/2014	On Monday, September 22, 2014 I contacted Brodie Brelsford the owner of the confinement and asked him if I could visit the site and measure the distance of the well from the manure storage structure (formed concrete below building deep pit). Brodie agreed to meet me at 10:30 AM. I also contacted John Roosa the Boone County Sanitarian and he agreed to meet me at the site. I arrived at the site at 10:30 AM and met Brodie Brelsford and John Roosa. I used a Garmin Dakota 10 GPS unit to measure the distance from the southeast corner of the manure storage pit to the well. I measured 38 yards (114 feet) with an accuracy within 9 feet. The well was a deep well (approximately 400' deep) and the required separation distance is 100 feet. I confirmed with Russ Tell (with Iowa DNR Private Wells) the following day (Tuesday, September 23, 2014) that the well was a deep well.	BILL GIBBONS
9/23/2014	On Friday, September 19, 2014 I called Pinnacle and talked to Jon Hager. Jon said the plans called for a new well to be drilled and he would check to see if they had applied for a private water well permit. Later that day I received an E-mail from Kent Krause with Pinnacle with a copy of the permit (Private Water Well Construction Permit) from the Iowa DNR attached to the E-mail.	BILL GIBBONS
9/23/2014	On Friday, September 19, 2014 I contacted the Boone County Sanitarian's Office and talked to Wanda Cox and to John Roosa the county Sanitarian. They could not find where they had issued a permit for a private water well at this site. They did issue a permit for a septic system and the paperwork indicated an existing on-site well. I told John Roosa I would check with Pinnacle and see if they had applied for a private water well permit.	BILL GIBBONS
