12/22/2014	I visited the facility and met with Sean Murray. He showed me two metal containers in the back yard wich contained burning lumber (wood from large cable spools). There were employees working on the east side of the yard. He said the burning was to provide heat for the workers. The smoke was fairly light, below 40% opacity, and not crossing the property line. He said that someone had been working on the west end of the yard where one of the containers was burning, but the person just finished up. I did not see evidence of other materials being burned. I told Mr. Murray to make sure the wood is not treated and to only burn where people are working. I concluded that this operation met the open burning exemption for recreational fires used for heating. I relayed this information to the complainant next door.	BILL GROSS
