9/9/2010	On September 8, 2010 Cory Frank called to tell me they had been by the site since we talked on September 2, 2010. Cory said the dead box had been moved onto the confinement property and there did not appear to be any mortalities in the box. I told Cory I had talked to Josh Cook and that he had promised to stay on top of getting the rendering truck to come out and pick up the dead hogs and that I had sent Josh some information on composting. I told Cory to call me if there were problems in the future.	BILL GIBBONS
9/2/2010	On September 2, 2010 I spoke to Cory Frank (Marion Co. Sanitarian) about the complaint. Cory said they had a complaint about the same thing in early August when it was hot outside and there was considerable decomposition of the dead hogs. Cory also said the dead box was in the county road right of way. I told Cory that Josh Cook said he had moved the box onto the site property. Cory said he would go by the site and see if the box was moved and also to check to see if they had mortalities stacking up again. Cory said he would get back to me with his observations. 9/2/2010	On September 2, 2010 I left a message on Marilyn Hayes cell phone that I had investigated the complaint and spoke to the confinement owner about proper and timely disposal of mortalities.	BILL GIBBONS
9/2/2010	On September 1, 2010 I talked to the owner of the confinement Josh Cook. Josh explained that there had been a misunderstanding with the rendering company that a pick up was needed. Josh said he had called on a Monday for pick up and the rendering company came on Tuesday and picked up the mortalities. Josh said he filled the rendering dumpster again on that same Tuesday and called the rendering company and they thought he was calling about the pick up they had already made. By the time he was able to get the rendering company to come out it was almost a week after he had placed the mortalities in the dumpster. Josh said since then he has moved the dumpster up to the confinement site and he is going to build an enclosure around it. He was also interested in composting the mortalities and I said I would send him information on composting and a copy of the applicable rules.	BILL GIBBONS
8/31/2010	On August 26, 2010 I went tot he site. There was a dead box several hundred feet west of the confinement on the south side of the gravel road. The box was empty and there were no dead hogs on the ground however there were bones on the ground that looked like they were from a dead hog and there was evidence that a dead animal was scraped up off of the ground.
