2/15/2018	Adam Shaffer FO2 spoke to Ms. Elliot the morning of February 12th. She expressed concern about dead hogs not being properly disposed and about "brown ice" hanging from the exhaust fans of the confinement. Mr. Shaffer explained that the hogs were placed at the pick up point. If the rendering company had not been called or if they were late in picking them up, this was a timely disposal issue which is the authority of IDALS. The ice she observed no doubt had some particulate matter in it which was derived from the interior of the confinement. The Department does not consider this a violation of the failure to contain rule. Later that day, an email was received by Jeff Vansteenburg from the DNR Web master describing the same situation along with derogatory comments about Mr. Leid. In addition DNR Field Staff had been at this site as recently as November 2017, no violations were noted. No additional action will be taken at this time.	JEFF VANSTEENBURG
