10/2/2024 10/1/24 Art, Bertch's consultant, contacted Chris Roling regarding the progress they have made, complications they have encountered, and requested a deadline extension. Chris Roling directed him to Field Office 1 and emailed us to let us know (see email attachment). Matt emailed Shane on 10/2/24 and he and I agreed to extend the deadline (see email attachment). ANDREA ERRTHUM
8/2/2024 Andrea Errthum emailed the Air Quality NOV for the Field Services Compliance Bureau to Matt Nieswender and Bertch's consultant, Art Samberg. ANDREA ERRTHUM
6/3/2024 Matt Nieswender supplied photos on May 31, 2024, of the cleaned-up area around the horizontal auger by the finishing mill. He was reminded to keep this area free of accumulated debris that could run off the property and enter the state's waters. MATT CALVERT
5/30/2024 Met with Matt Nieswender, Environmental Manager, Kris Weeden, HR Specialist, and Dave Mentel, Engineering Project Manager, on May 29, 2024, and they said that the vertical auger near the finishing mill was broken. Large piles of sawdust were observed on the ground around and near the dumpster underneath the horizontal auger. No detectable sawdust was observed leaving the site, but the accumulated materials on the ground are against the company's BMPs in their STW SWPPP. The sawdust piles must be removed, and the employees from Bertch agreed to eliminate the piles immediately and supply photos of the cleanup. MATT CALVERT
