12/17/2015	Date: 12/04/2015 Sender: erin.ogle@dnr.iowa.gov Note: Mark Schroeder (712-790-1349) called inquiring about bolting a double valve design on Randy Kohorst's slurry store. The animal units will not be increasing nor will there be a change in manure volume (currently approx. 900,000 gallons). He said each slurry store currently has 2 valves on the outside. None are on the inside. A physical barrier would be re-installed if they used this new valve design. He said there is an operation plan on each site and the person he has spoken with has already offered to provide the PE design and certification. Cady Inc. is where the design would be from (Illinois sites have been using this design with Murhpy-Brown). After confirming with other staff, modifications must be in compliance with 567 IAC 65.15(20). No permit is required if just replacing valves. Paul would require a small package of drawings details etc with PE stamp. He would approve them and require a PE certification upon completion. Mark plans to mail the drawings prior to modifications (which is planned for spring 2016 when the tanks are empty). -------------------------------------	CINDY GARZA
