10/24/2016 Upon inspection of the facility I observed no visible mortalities or other violations at the time. I contacted Ben Crawford to address the issue. His response is attached. From: Ben Crawford [mailto:bcrawford@prestagefarms.com] Sent: Monday, October 24, 2016 5:36 AM To: Weber, Dan [DNR] Subject: RE: Complaint received for Pi 261 Finisher Hi Dan, I checked with our Service Manager about mortality disposal at our PI-261 site last Friday. Pigs are only a few weeks old at this site and death loss has been minimal. The Service Manager has been at the site several times in the last 2 weeks getting pigs started and assured me any mortalities have been placed in the rendering container and picked up in a timely manner. Darling picks up 3 times per week at our sites on a set schedule, or as needed if we call something in. We routinely review mortality disposal at our sites, and I will make it a point to review with everyone again at our meeting on Wednesday.
