3/20/2005	Due to low N concentration of manure the actual application rates could be ~30000 - 45000 gal/acre. Sometimes there is summer application on the pasture.Pipe lines in application fields w/ risers for pumpouts.Because application rates are so high the facility has been applying @ ½ the rates @ 2 different times. I explained to Mr. Schafer that he isn''t required to do that but it is recommended to prevent runoff & surface application. Mr. Schafer stated that he will probably begine applying @ 25000 gal/acre depending on lagoon samples. If DNR determines that it is surface application he has 50-60'' buffers along all waterways.
