7/6/2011	DNR’s Amie Davidson, Michelle Johnson, Jeremy Klatt and David Miller met with Waste Management’s Tom Buchholz, Deb McDonald, Terry Johnson & Jerri Moore on 6JUL11. We went over the gas system improvements and the leachate management system. Much of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of management options for leachate impacted storm water. I explained that it would be difficult for DNR to grant a second “one time” surface water discharge, although it might be possible. Waste Management explained the variety of measures they had undertaken to help ensure that leachate does not again impact surface water. We discussed potential land application of the storm water and the prospect of DNR permitting a one time land application vs. Waste Management getting a land application permit. Waste Management will consider these issues and submit a draft request to the DNR for the option(s) they would like to pursue. We took a tour of the site and noted their recent efforts to remedy leachate seeps and redirect surface water run-on around their operations.	DAVID MILLER
