6/4/2013	I stopped to see check on report that they were pumping out from settling basin over into ditch because of heavy rains. Met with Paul Wielenga and Greg VanDonkelaar as they were finishing up pumping from basin on SE corner of facility. They had already stopped with second pump so they did not agitate and add any nutrients from bottom. They said they had been watching to see that it was running clear as the basin was nearly empty before the rains came. The rain made the creek to north overtake the pens, break through the fence and flow into the top of the basin. The ditches had been topped off and the road was flooded. They had discussed sending it to basin to the northwest, but decided in the crisis situation the 6" line would take too long with more rains forecasted. I told them they should do that from now on as they still have capacity in the north basin. Discussed taking a sample, but too late now really as they are near the bottom. Could have taken one in the beginning to prove it was mostly water.	LOIS BENSON
