11/5/2015 On 11/2/15, I emailed Jeff and requested an update. He asked if he could fix the catch basin before December 31, 2015 and complete the fencing part of the project next spring when the weather permits. I accepted the plan. BRYAN BUNTON
6/30/2015 Acceptable plan received 6/30/15. By December 31, 2015, facility will 1. Remove the fence and in the area of concern. 2. Extend the catch basin just south of the area of concern, north to catch the drainage off of pasture 1. 3. Reinstall fence 50’ east of the existing fence line to keep livestock away from main drainage ditch/creek. BRYAN BUNTON
6/30/2015 Acceptable plan received 6/30/15. BRYAN BUNTON
6/24/2015 This inspection of the cattle feedlot was a follow up to the facility-wide inspection conducted on February 11, 2015. One area of concern was noted during the inspection. I observed that runoff from pen #1 could potentially travel a short distance through an adjoining pasture and discharge into a nearby tributary of Goodwater Creek. Due to the steep slope of the pasture and lack of vegetation on the creek banks, manure could be directly discharged into this nearby watercourse without proper solids settling in this area. Therefore, DNR is requiring that a written manure control plan to implement improvements in this area be submitted no later than August 1, 2015. BRYAN BUNTON
