12/5/2014 Julie Sievers and I met with the Peterson's to discuss the feedlot issues that needed to be followed up on and the irrigation, cattle water wells and the public water supply wells. A map is included in the DNR folder which shows the location of all wells. There are 3 irrigation wells, 2 public water supply wells and 9 wells that supply water just to the cattle. Small corrections to these 2 wells are required and now recordkeeping and sampling will be a part of their designation as a Transient NonCommunity Public Water Supply. Julie reminded them that if they need to drill a new well for any reason they must meet the 200 feet from an animal enclosure for a public water supply. They should measure their static and pumping levels on a regular basis. The feedlot needs to obtain a wate use permit, estimating the water usage by head of cattle. There is a pressure tank underground for storage next to well #1/#2. The tower is fed by wells #5 and #6. Brian stated that a new pivot is going to be installed for application of the pond water and will tie into the existing ponds. The screens have been added in the settling basins, the concrete has been removed behind the intakes and the cattle have been moved to maintain seperation distances to the existing wells. He still needs to reseed the berms this spring and to fill in the erosion in all ponds. CINDY MARTENS
