4/13/2009	On April 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM I stopped by Don's East Grand Conoco to check progress on an underground storage tank (UST) removal. There were two USTs an 8,000 gal. and a 4,000 gal. The company removing the tanks was Elder Corporation. Elder Corporation had retained Allender Butzke Engineers, Inc. in Urbandale to to the tank closure sampling. Don Edds (certified groundwater professional #1298, phone: 515-252-1885) and Bobbi Brace with Allender Butzke were at the site to collect closure samples. When I arrived at the site they had uncovered the 4,000 gallon UST. The tank was made of steel and had factory installed cathodic protection (Sti-P3).	BILL GIBBONS
