12/24/2014 I meet with Don Ostrander, Affidavit Operator, to discuss and review the water treatment and distribution system, as well as, correct any miscommunication during my sanitary survey. Don thought there was only one service connection due to people using only chlorinated water, but I explained to him we look at service connections as where people use the water. There are six services connections due to the bathrooms in the scale house, feed mill, new office/break room for the feed mill, BRD 49 building, BRD 29 building, and process building. Don stated well 4 is not connected to any building or system, but still has the submersible pump in it. ASHLEY WALLER
12/24/2014 Below is a clarification of the distribution system. This description was taken from my recent sanitary survey and updated with the clarified information. An elevated storage tank is located southeast of the process building. The process building houses the water treatment system, which includes an ion exchange softening and chlorination for drinking water only. Water from wells #6 and 7 is pumped into the 150,000 gallon elevated storage tank. The water comes to a "T," where part of it goes to the process building and the other part goes through a loop to the layer houses. Each layer house has two reduced pressure zone (RPZ) devices. The process building water goes through an ion exchange water softening system, where a percentage of the larger salt particles (taken from the bottom of the brine) tank are reclaimed and reused to soften the water. After the water softening system, the water is split with the majority of the water going to processing in the process building and a small amount going to a continuous rotating chlorine mixing tank. In the tank, chlorine is automatically added when the level drops below a certain level and automatically shuts off when it reaches a higher level. The chlorine is read automatically every two minutes by a monitor in the chlorine mixing tank. The chlorinated water is used for human consumption in the process building. There are bathrooms in the scale house, feed mill, new office/break room building for the feed mill, BRD 49 building and BRD 29 building. BRD 49 and BRD 29 buildings are located on the north side of all the other buildings but south of the wastewater treatment lagoons. Please see the distribution map for more information. The water comes into the buildings and comes to a "T" with one side going to the RPZ and the other side going to the bathroom. ASHLEY WALLER
