I have not heard back as to when they will be down to take care of that, however I will let you know when I hear back from them. As for the appliances I have spoken to everyone and informed them of the proper procedure of removing the appliances. I assure you it will be followed for all appliance removal in the future, As for the appliances we have already removed they will be taken to the Ottumwa Wapello Recycling Center tomorrow morning for proper demanufacturing except for the refrigerators. The refrigerators will be kept here at the landfill until we have a full load to take to Weikert Recycling in Muscatine due to the Ottumwa Wapello Recycling Center cannot handle sodium chromate. Today we are in the process of vacuuming the ponding leachate that is on the cell and shoring up the area that the leachate is seeping from to avoid future ponding on the cell. There is still a little in front of the culvert in the sediment pond that needs to be taken out, that should be taken care of within the next couple of days. We have taken around 10 loads with our haul truck out of the sediment pond and 1 load out of the ditch. The operators have fixed the areas at the toe making a better slope. We are currently working on getting the dirt put on for cover. After we have the exposed trash properly covered we will start on the east berm. When everything is completed we will go back and recover where the soil is eroded. Lori Creech Ottumwa/Wapello Landfill creechl@ottumwa.us 641-683-0645 Office 641-244-6402 Cell BRIAN LEE
