6/10/2011	I stopped by the Jackson Co. Transfer station on 2/17/11. I met with Mike Sagers and Marvin Heister, both operators. Mark Beck remains the Director, Dave Veach remains the loader operator. Steve Short is no longer employed by this facility. We discussed the fact that the current permit was issued on May 19, 2008 and that it expires on May 19, 2011. Permit renewal application paperwork is in the process of being submitted to the DNR CO. Prairie Hil Landfill in Morrison, Illinois gets all the waste from Jackson County Transfer Station. They are currently operating two trucks and three trailers to transport wastes to the Morrison site. We discussed the fact that the ceiling of the transfer station is very dark for some reason and that this prevents the facility from being as "light" as desirred. They will be thoroughly cleaning the ceiling later this year to lighten things up. Appliance processing has cut way back from past years.	DOUG HAWKER
