8/18/2014	I inspected this facility on 13AUG14. In addition to the items noted on the attached inspection report, Bruce Rewoldt admitted to me that during our conversation last December he had knowingly misrepresented that daily cover was being put down when, in fact, it was not being put down. He stated that he had been trying to “cover my ass” and was “just telling you what you needed to hear”. Mr. Rewoldt further stated that he had “hard feelings” because my last NOV, which threatened a fine for future daily cover non-compliance, had angered the Board, and all three landfill employees had been put on probation. I advised Mr. Rewoldt that if he would have been forthright with me about this matter I might have taken a different tone, but stating an obvious untruth regarding a long standing non-compliance issue led me to believe that my previous conversations with facility personnel were not proving effective.
