8/27/2026 An update was provided on 8-26-26 stating little progress has been made due to recent rains. Staff are currently scraping soil to move to new cell for cover. MALIA SCHEPERS
8/4/2026 I sent an email to Sheila on 8-4-2026 asking for updates every other week. Including dates cover was applied, locations and pictures. MALIA SCHEPERS
7/23/2026 I visited the site to document the progress of the requirement to cover the waste in the new cell. Staff are still moving waste down from the previous cell to level it out and have approximately 1/3 of the previous cell covered. What is covered is at least 12 inches and adequate. I advised them to simultaneously cover both cells. Leachate is still having to be hauled almost daily to maintain leachate levels because of the excess water collected in the new cell with no adequate cover. Staff expects it will still take several months to accomplish. MALIA SCHEPERS
