6/2/2023	Mike Smith and Brian Rath of the Iowa DNR LQB accompanied me on a visit the MPW SLF to examine progress in constructing a leachate interceptor trench (36 ft. deep) at the south toe of the Greene County cell and the construction of a new cell southeast of the working face. We met with HDR and MWA officials. Due to muddy conditions, the large trencher was on-site, but idle. Piles of aggregate for backfill were present along the trench area. Work was expected to be completed within the next week. The new cell was nearly completed. The liner and leachate lines were installed. A rain cover was over the northeast portion of the cell. The liner was welded to the north cell. No further action is deemed necessary at this time.	BILL GROSS
