11/14/2022 11/1/22 response: Recommendation: ? Develop a basis to determine the optimal time for bag filter replacement. Plan of action: The City of Ames will create and implement a formal standard operating procedure (SOP) and monthly log sheet to support the current procedure of monitoring air pressures of the PDS and ADS baghouse filters to ensure filter replacement within set parameters. BILL GROSS
11/14/2022 11/1/22 response: Reminders: ? Contact the Iowa DNR Air Quality Bureau regarding the removal of the cyclone from the ADS exhaust system and the need for construction permits for the ambient air roof vents. Plan of action: Following updated air dispersion modeling by the consultant, a permit amendment application will be filed by March 31, 2023 to document the removal of the cyclone from the ADS system. Plan of action: The City of Ames will provide information to the consultant to verify that the ambient air roof vents function only as general building ventilation and are not connected to any part of the process that generates emissions. The information will also be provided to the Iowa DNR Air Quality Bureau by March 31, 2023 to allow IDNR to make a determination regarding the need to apply for construction permits for the ambient air roof vents. BILL GROSS
