7/31/2026 I conducted an unannounced visit at HyCast on June 23, 2026 regarding the complaint. Based upon the their records, HyCast is pouring in the mornings only as the weather warms. They are making ~200 molds per day, approximately 2 tons of metal. The metal melts only through their induction furnaces. They are no longer utilizing the cupola as those activities associated at the plant are discontinued. After pouring, the induction furnaces are allowed to cool and maintained at a set temperature. In the early morning more metal is added and heated up for the day's pours. They are pouring 2-3 days per week. Regarding June 11, 2026 in particular. Rain events passed through the area in the morning and concluded around 1-2pm depositing about 1.25 inches of rain. The cold (low pressure) front passed through afterwards and winds primarily WNW at 10-15mph occurred. The winds could have carried odors (and the allowable emissions after the air pollution control equipment of bag filters) towards the areas Neil observed along B Avenue while bicycling. HyCast was done with all pouring by 1 pm on June 11. According to their staff the only operating equipment was the induction furnaces as the metal was still cooling from the melt from earlier part of the day. No heating of the metal occurred again until early on June 12 prior to 6AM. RYAN STOUDER
