2/16/2012	I visited the site and met with Myron Hirschman, Landfill Director. He took over this position at the beginning of the year. I checked the leachate piezometer record and it showed less than one inch of leachate in each of the three phases. Mr. Hirschman reported that they had begun pulling out untreated lumber from loads as time allows. The lumber was being stored near the tree pile and will be ground up when the trees are ground. Myron reported that most if not all the ground lumber would be used for erosion control and cover at the landfill. Permit amendment #7 was just issued January 7, 2011, allowing this operation. I examined the active area and found the lumber pile at the tree pile (there was a separate pallet stack which may be reused). For the most part, the lumber appeared untreated, though I asked Myron to check a few items. Waste was being deposited at the south end of the new cell--second lift. It was being worked from the top, so equipment was seldom atop only the first lift. Cover appeared adequate.	BILL GROSS
