Subject: Superfund Site

Good morning. My name is Bill Lodge and my wife and I currently live near the Superfund site, EPA ID: IAD980497556 known as the Doty Landfill in Camanche Iowa. The previous owners of this land have both passed away and their family is overseeing their estate. They recently had a small backhoe on the site doing some sort of digging. Is this land able to be disturbed and what are they allowed to do on the property? The previous owner, was always burying items on this site, to possibly include an old mobile home! 7/17/2026	See attached NOV letter requiring remediation to disturbed landfill waste.	BERT NOLL
6/23/2026	On June 18, 2026 I visited this site and talked with the complainant who showed me where some digging had occurred on, from maps provided the McManus Landfill or directly East across 31st ave from 1401. I then talked with property owner Cara Barefield - 678-437-3763. Mrs. Barefield explained that a nephew of hers had expressed interest in building a house on the property and then rented a mini-excavator and began to dig "test" pits of one bucket to see if there was any waste below or how deep. He had apparently been informed by someone that he could build a house on the property if the waste was at least four feet below the surface. As I looked further at the property it appeared he had dug around a dozen of these holes and waste was observed in all of them. A hole had also been dug across from 1001 but no waste was encountered there.	BERT NOLL
