12/8/2015	I visited the site and met with Chad and Trent Carter. They own and operate ABC disposal and Waste Transfer Stations, LLC in Hiawatha along with their father Ted. They operate this business as a cardboard and paper recycling facility. There were numerous bails of cardboard stored outside the building in an orderly fashion. There were also vehicles present onsite that are purchased and used to provide parts for their waste hauling trucks. Also present are some piles of clean soil and torn up concrete. Finally, I observed a large pile of clean wood waste that had reportedly come from construction sites required to source-seperate waste materials. Chad and Trent said they planned to grind the wood waste and reuse or market the material. I said that without a specific plan/schedule to grind or remove the material this could be considered improper disposal of solid waste. Chad and Trent agreed to grind and remove the material before spring and to not accumulate wood waste in the future. I did not observe any other materials or practices of environmental concern during my visit. No further action is necessary.	BRIAN JERGENSON
