6/1/2018 See attached photos from the visit on 5.25.2018. BENJAMIN STRACUZZI
5/29/2018 B. Stracuzzi visited Chamness Technology, Inc. at approximately 14:00 on May 25, 2018. I initially met with the receptionist and she referred me to one of the operators at the facility, Eric Gunsolley. According to the receptionist, the Site Manager was currently on medical leave. I explained to Mr. Gunsolley the reason for the visit (i.e., reported holes in the composting pad) and that I would like to inspect the asphalt pad. Mr. Gunsolley drove me around the entirety of the asphalt pad and I photo-documented the pad's condition. At the time of the visit, large holes or perforations were not apparent. However, the pad was not entirely visible due to piles of compost / residual compost spread across the pad. Mr. Gunsolley stated there are a couple "soft" spots within the pad and that Chamness did their best to close these holes using compacted aggregate. I also walked around the eastern portion of the pad in order to conduct further inspection but did not observe any areas of concern. Before leaving, I showed Mr. Gunsolley the requirement of located in IAC Chapter 105.3(5) that states composting must be conducted on a relatively impervious surface in order to permit accessibility during inclement weather as well as protect surface/ground water. Photos from the visit are provided below. BENJAMIN STRACUZZI
