5/2/2013	Site visit 4/23/13. Bedded manure from open feedlot was applied on pasture ground to the south of the facility, but as it is dry manure and has at least 50' of vegetated buffer, there are no separation distances required for this application. There was no runoff from this pasture noted at on the day of the investigation. However, since the ground for the open feedlot and the adjacent hog confinement are both owned by Trent Blair, this site is a combined site. As the capacity of the hog confinement is >2500 finishers, the combined operation is considered a Large CAFO. Discussed this with Trent Blair and his son-in-law, Kyle Guldranson, who lives at 3374 Kingsley Ave and manages the open lot cattle. Will follow up with a letter, but unless action is taken to change the status of the facility from a Large CAFO, the site will be required to obtain an NPDES permit and construct controls/containment.
