5/23/2025	On 5/21/25 I was available to investigate this complaint. A large amount of black smoke was able to be traced to a property to the South of Hills, IA. The location of the illegal burn was at 5620 Oak Crest Hill Rd SE, near a hog building. A resident of the property gave me permission to check the burn pile out. She called property owner Larry Schott when he told me that it was only wood being burned. Within the burn pile included plastic siding, insulation, a toilet, and other solid waste items. I proceeded to leave the property to meet Larry Schott at his office located at 5465 Oakcrest Hill Rd SE, Riverside, IA. On the way I located a separate open dump pile that included lumber, insulation, carboard, rubber hose, and other solid waste on a property owned by Larry. During the meeting with Larry he tried to tell me just wood was being burned. I showed him pictures documenting what was being burned which he admitted to tearing down a porch from a house that he owns. I let Larry know that this burn was illegal and the solid waste needed to be disposed of properly. An NOV will be sent.	ANTHONY KERKER
