6/19/2019 Mr. Blood called a pumping crew who arrived Saturday morning. The crew pumped all manure from behind the temporary dike back into storage. Enough manure was then transferred to the third basin (located roughly a mile away) so that 3 feet of freeboard was present in both basins. BRYAN BUNTON
6/19/2019 On 6/14/19, Jeff Theobald and I conducted a follow-up visit to verify completion of the project. It appeared that the transfer pipe has been installed in accordance with the engineering plans. BRYAN BUNTON
3/4/2019 Dennis Thielen and I investigated the site and upon arrival observed manure overflowing from the primary earthen basin. The released manure flowed across snow covered ground and pooled in a neighbor's field. Facility employees contained the manure with a temporary earthen berm. We checked a nearby creek using site, smell and an ammonia test, and no evidence of manure was observed. A pump fitting failed which caused the basin to overflow and release an estimated 25,000 gallons. Mr. Blood called a pumping crew who arrived Saturday morning. The crew pumped all manure from behind the temporary dike back into storage. Enough manure was then transferred to the third basin (located roughly a mile away) so that 3 feet of freeboard was present in both basins. Manure was spread out over the fields to the extent possible using a large tractor and blade. BRYAN BUNTON
